Description

If you’re the kind of person who thinks “pics or it didn’t happen” every time you go for a run, hike, or ride, Relive is the app that once made your outdoor stories look epic. So next time, when you finish a sweaty bike ride, you’ll instantly get a 3D flyover video of your route, complete with your photos, stats, and a dramatic soundtrack. It’s like your own adventure movie.

Relive is super easy to use. You just hit record, stash your phone, and get moving. The app tracks your route using GPS, and when you’re done, it creates a slick 3D video showing your path over mountains, through forests, or around your local park.
You can tag friends, see your max speed or, in my case, my max “slow”, and share your adventure on social media. It works with a bunch of other trackers too, including Garmin, Suunto, Apple Health, and more, so you don’t have to give up your favorite gadgets.

The 3D videos are genuinely great. There’s something magical about seeing your route swoop and spin over a digital landscape, especially if you add photos at the right moments. It’s a great way to relive your favorite adventures and make your friends jealous of your weekend exploits.

Here’s where the plot twist comes in. Over the years, Relive has slowly moved more and more features behind a paywall. The free version now feels like a demo: you get a basic 3D video of your route, but you can’t add multimedia or even change the title of your adventure unless you pay up.
Want to show off that epic summit selfie or the time you accidentally biked into a pond? Sorry, that’s for Plus subscribers only. And the price for Plus? Let’s just say it’s not pocket change, especially if you’re only using it occasionally.

The app is still fun and the 3D videos are actually awesome. Sometimes the GPS gets a little creative (my “hike” once looked like I’d teleported across a river), and the app can be slow or crash when editing longer videos or adding lots of photos.
If you’re a paid user, you get more customization, HD videos, and the ability to add up to 100 photos, but even then, some users report bugs and wish for more music choices, unless you’re a big fan of 80s soft rock.

Don’t get me wrong, Relive is a fantastic idea and, as I’ve already said, when it works, it’s a blast to use. If you’re happy with just a simple 3D map of your route, the free version is fine (but honestly, so is your smartwatch).
If you want to make your adventures look epic and shareable, you’ll need to pay for Plus, and hope the app behaves. For casual users, the price might be a dealbreaker, but for outdoor storytellers, it’s still one of the coolest ways to capture your adventures.
If you’re on the fence, try the free trial of Plus before committing. And always check your GPS and battery settings, as nothing ruins an adventure like a straight line across the map and a dead phone.

Relive used to be the king of outdoor adventure videos, but now it’s more like a fun sidekick, great if you pay, but a bit of a tease if you don’t. Still, if you want to make your friends and subscribers jealous of your weekend hikes, there’s nothing quite like it.
